CSS

Declarative programming language that describes the style and presentation of an HTML or XML document.

History

With the creation of HTML in 1989, there was no way to style a website at all as Tim Berners-Lee and his employers at Cern were mostly interested in the web as a digital directory for employees. Although, as time went on, programmers began to express a means to design web pages. Consequently, Hakon Wium Lee introduced CSS in October of 1994. Lie later collaborated with Bert Bos to make a more detailed specification which debuted in 1996.
